DAILY ITINERARY

Day 1 : Toronto – Cape Town
Depart Toronto for Cape Town via the United States and Johannesburg.

Day 2 : Cape Town
Evening arrival and transfer to your hotel.

Day 3 : Cape Town
Morning at leisure to settle into your surroundings. Then take a cable-car up Table Mountain to view one of the world’s most spectacular panoramas. Enjoy an afternoon city tour of the many neighbourhoods and sites around Cape Town including the Malay neighbourhood of Bo-Kaap and the Kirstenbosch botanical gardens. B/D

Day 4 : The Cape Peninsula
Enjoy a full-day tour of the Cape Peninsula. Take a boat to the seal inhabited Duiker Island, followed by a visit to Simon’s Town and Boulders Beach, home to its own penguin colony. After a seafood lunch, pass through the Cape of Good Hope reserve. Return to Cape Town for supper at leisure on the Waterfront and experience the city’s nightlife at your own pace. B/L

Day 5 : Cape Town – Wine Route – Worcester
Take the wine route to South Africa’s wellknown vineyards. Visit the important wineproducing town of Stellenbosch, dotted with Dutch-style houses. Enjoy wine tasting and lunch in the wine production centre. From here, continue on to the French quarter of Franschhoek, followed by a city tour and visit to the Huguenot museum. Overnight in Worcester. B/L

Day 6 : Worcester – Little Karoo – Oudtshoorn
Depart for Little Karoo and admire the spectacular scenery along Route 62. Cross the Breede River Valley and pass Robertson and Ashton on the way to Montagu, where fruit crops and wineries abound. Head for Oudtshoorn, where we will visit an ostrichbreeding farm and learn about the history of the ostrich feather industry. After lunch we will visit the Cango Caves and take a guided walk through the magnificent stalagmite formations. B/L

Day 7 : Oudtshoorn – Knysna
Morning departure for Knysna, known for its precious wood. Visit the private natural reserve of Featherbed, accessible only by boat, and cross the Knysna lagoon. Hop on a 4x4 for an ecological adventure and guided tour through the forests to explore the cliffsides, caves and rocky coastline. Take an afternoon ferry ride to the Knysna waterfront and enjoy some leisure time. B/L/D

Day 8 : Knysna – Port Elizabeth – Durban
Journey along the Garden Route and cross South Africa’s Garden of Eden, a combination of deserted beaches, peaceful lagoons, tropical forests and majestic mountains. The thousand-year-old Big Tree can be spotted between Knysna and Plettenberg Bay. Transfer to the Port Elizabeth airport for your flight to Durban. B/L

Day 9 : Durban – Hluhluwe
Take a guided morning tour of the exotic town of Durban, a cosmopolitan melting pot of English, Indian and African influences. Stroll along the Golden Mile’s seaside promenade before departing for Zululand, located between the Transkei border to the south and that of Swaziland to the north. The Zulu territory is vast and rich in history and culture. B/D

Day 10 : Hluhluwe Reserve – St. Lucia – Hluhluwe Reserve
Embark on a 4x4 for your safari to the Hluhluwe Reserve, known for its large population of white rhinoceros. Numerous species abound in the region’s ecologically diverse vegetation. Return to the lodge for breakfast and continue to the St. Lucia estuary, surrounded by forests, mangroves and sand dunes. Spot groups of hippopotamuses, crocodiles, birds, fish and other animals as you cruise the estuary. Enjoy a light lunch on board, visit the Zulu Croc reptile park and return to the Hluhluwe Reserve. Enjoy a traditional Boma dinner and Zulu dance performance (time permitting). B/L/D

Day 11 : Hluhluwe Reserve – Mlilwane Park – Swaziland
Depart for the small independent kingdom of Swaziland, a verdant hilly region known as the Switzerland of Africa. Head to the Mlilwane Reserve, the oldest national Swazi park, located near Ezulwini and Malkerns. Guides will greet you for your on-foot safari. Follow the animal tracks and your guide’s instructions. B/L/D

Day 12 : Swaziland – Swazi Village – White River
Start the day with a visit to the Swazi village of Matsamo, followed by a traditional African lunch and sampling of local dishes. Tour the area and discover Swazi customs and language, which possess a strong Sotho influence. Return to South Africa (clear customs at the Swaziland-South African borders). B/L/D

Day 13 : White River – Kruger Park – Kapama Private Reserve
Depart early in the morning for a safari on a 4x4 to Kruger Park, home to Africa’s greatest variety of animals. There will be time to settle in at the lodge before taking another 4x4 for a late-afternoon safari in the Kapama Private Reserve. Stop to admire the sunset, scenery and wildlife. Discover nocturnal wildlife on a night safari and return to the lodge for a Boma dinner under the starry night sky. B/L/D

Day 14 : Kapama Private Reserve – Blyde River Canyon – Pilgrim’s Rest – Misty Mountain
Enjoy one last 4x4 safari in the Kapama Private Reserve before breakfast at the lodge, Then visit the magnificent region of Drakensberg, brimming with natural treasures. Travel through the mountains and stop at numerous points of interest including God’s Window, which offers stunning views. Travel to one of the most spectacular points along the route, the impressive Blyde River Canyon, which is dominated by three peaks and is a spectacle of striking beauty. Tour the historical city of Pilgrim’s Rest at the end of the day. B/D

Day 15 : Misty Mountain – Johannesburg
Depart for the region of Kwandebele, whose Ndebele population is known for their colourful geometric houses. Cross the prairies alongside the Steenkampberg mountain range, whose highest peak towers over the Mpumalanga region. Stop at Corn & Cob for lunch on a farm, where you will discover typical houses and Ndebele art. Enjoy a delicious dinner at Carnivore Restaurant. B/L/D

Day 16 : Johannesburg – Pretoria – Johannesburg - Toronto
Visit Pretoria and its Church Square, Union Buildings, government headquarters, magnificent gardens and monument to the Voortrekkers, witness to Afrikaner history. Depart for Soweto and enjoy local specialties at a shebeen (traditional pub that originated in the apartheid era) for lunch. End your adventure with a panoramic tour of Soweto and transfer to the Johannesburg airport for your return flight via the United States. B/L

Day 3 : Walvis Bay
Explore the port by boat. Discover Bird Island, a refuge for hundreds of the Cape’s cormorants, and Pelican Point, with its sea lion and pink flamingo colonies. Oysters and champagne will be served during the excursion. Enjoy a picnic lunch on the desert dunes. Cross the dunes on a 4x4 until you reach Sandwich Harbour, a lagoon surrounded by the dunes of the Namib Desert and the Atlantic Ocean. B/L/D

Day 4 : Walvis Bay – Sossusvlei
Discover the famous Welvitchia Mirabilis, a peculiar plant found exclusively in the foggy zones of the Namibian desert. See the Naukluft Mountains and Kuiseb Canyon before reaching the Namib Desert. Check in to the lodge for your 2-night stay. B/L/D

Day 5 : Sossusvlei
Morning departure for the Sossusvlei national park and visit to one of the world’s highest dunes. Ride a 4x4 to Deadvlei, one of Sossusvlei’s most peculiar sites, and discover its uniqueness during a pleasant 1-hour hiking tour. Continue toward the Sesriem Canyon, beautifully sculpted by the Tsauchab River. B/L/D

Day 6 : Sossusvlei - Windhoek
Morning departure for Windhoek. Stop for lunch along the way and transfer to the Windhoek airport. B/L
