• Vehicles and rangers
cannot cross the border separating both countries, so you must
change vehicles at the border crossing.
• Border crossing into Tanzania: Presentation of yellow fever
vaccination record and entry visa required.
• The major roads in Tanzania are better than those in Kenya, but
park trails are less gradient. Even well-maintained trails can
sometimes become challenging.
• Depending on where your accommodation or the animals are located,
two safaris may be combined into one. Some of the itineraries may be
reversed due to trail conditions.
• Children under 7 years of age are not admitted to the
Mountain-Lodge in Mount Kenya

DAILY ITINERARY
Day 1 : Toronto - Nairobi
Depart Toronto for
Nairobi, via Amsterdam.
Day 2 : Nairobi
Upon arrival at the
end of the day, you’ll be greeted by your ranger/driver.
Transfer to your hotel and settle in. D
Day 3 : Nairobi –
Nakuru
Depart for Nakuru,
renowned for its saltwater lake and abundance of pink
flamingos. B/L/D
Day 4 : Nakuru – Mount Kenya
Set out on a safari
amongst the deep forests of gigantic trees surrounding the
lake. The park is well-known for its rhinoceros population,
which although difficult to spot, are a common sight in Nakuru.
Its vast colonies of pink flamingos number in the thousands
during certain periods. Have lunch at the lodge and drive to
Mount Kenya, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Once you arrive at
the timbered tree lodge, you’ll have some time to observe the
animals that frequent the watering hole at the foot of the
lodge. B/L/D
Day 5 : Mount Kenya – Nairobi – Amboseli
Depart for Nairobi
after observing the animals around the lodge one last time.
Orientation tour of Nairobi. Lunch at "Carnivore Restaurant."
Continue to Amboseli, the famous reserve located at the foot
of Kilimanjaro. Settle in at the lodge, and then leave on
safari to observe the reserve’s rich wildlife in
picture-perfect surroundings. The park is well-known for its
herds of elephants, giraffes, zebras, antelopes and big cats
(lions and cheetahs). Return to the lodge at sunset. B/L/D
Day 6 : Amboseli – Tarangire
You’ll have time for
tea or coffee before embarking on a safari at daybreak to
admire elephants, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, lions and
cheetahs against a backdrop of snowy peaks. Return to the
lodge for a buffet breakfast. Depart for the border crossing
at Namanga before continuing on to Arusha. Travel to Tarangire
and arrive at the lodge. B/L/D

Day 7 :
Tarangire – Serengeti
Enjoy tea or
coffee before setting out on a safari along the river to an
area with a high concentration of impalas, giraffes,
waterbucks, elks, rhinoceroses and elephants. Buffet
breakfast. Enjoy a second safari among the baobabs and
acacias, on the look out for more animals. Packed lunch on the
way to Serengeti, Tanzania’s largest park. You’ll be amazed by
the vast vistas and large herds of herbivores, closely
followed by their natural predators, that cross the savannah.
Arrival at the lodge. B/L/D
Day 8 : Serengeti
Early morning
wake-up with time for tea or coffee before setting out on a
safari at daybreak. Buffet breakfast at the lodge. Spend the
morning on a safari in Serengeti’s immense savannahs, home to
almost every animal under the sun, including the big cats.
Lunch, followed by another safari. Lovers of wideopen spaces
will be in seventh heaven. Return to the lodge at sunset.

Day 9 :
Serengeti – N’Gorongoro
Travel to
Olduvai Gorge, considered the cradle of humanity. Visit a
small museum that depicts the beginnings of mankind on earth.
Continue to N’Gorongoro. B/L/D
Day 10 :
N’Gorongoro
Full-day
safari in the N’Gorongoro Crater, an extinct volcano with a
thriving animal population. You will be amazed by the
spectacle unfolding before your eyes during the descent.
Thousands of animals live in the reserve, and it is even
common to run across rhinoceroses, which are notoriously
difficult to spot. Picnic-style lunch. Return to the lodge in
the late afternoon. B/L/D
Day 11 :
N’Gorongoro – Arusha – Toronto
Depart for
Arusha for a quick panoramic tour of the second largest city
in Tanzania. Then, visit the Culture and History Museum before
a short drive through Arusha with your guide/driver. Transfer
to the airport for your return flight to Toronto via
Amsterdam. B/L
Day 12 : Toronto
Arrival in
Toronto.
